Who we are

This website is operated by Laken Web Works, Rua Cavadinha 70, 4505-684 Caldas de São Jorge, Portugal (tax number 332603180). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].

Contact form

When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the information you provide (your name, email address and message) so we can reply to your inquiry. Your message is stored on our website and sent to our mailbox, and you receive an automatic confirmation by email. We use this information only to handle your inquiry, not for marketing or advertising, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to send you a reply. We process it because you asked us to get in touch (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Spam protection

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that it is filled in by a person and not a bot. For this check, Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and device, including your IP address. We do this based on our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and consent

On your first visit, a cookie banner asks which cookies you accept. Your choice is stored in a cookie in your browser and, together with an anonymized IP address, in our website’s database as a record of your consent. Statistics cookies are only placed after you accept them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Manage consent” at the bottom of every page.

Analytics

If you accept statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site, such as which pages are viewed. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data such as your IP address and information about your device and browser. We do not use this data for advertising and do not share it with advertisers. We only do this with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Hosting and security

This website is hosted by Hostinger and delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it against attacks and helps it load faster. Both may log standard technical data (such as IP addresses and browser information) for security and performance purposes, based on our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Data outside the EU

Google and Cloudflare are US companies, so some data may be processed in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as offering adequate protection.

Data retention

We keep contact form submissions only as long as needed to handle your inquiry.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy of it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact us at [email protected] to make a request. You also have the right to file a complaint with a data protection authority: in Portugal that is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt), or the authority in the country where you live.
